It’s funny sometimes how something enters your life. I have a friend who had a comic on Tapastic and I used that website like crazy until I couldn’t read anything anymore because I have to pay for it. I even bought some coins to keep reading but then I realized it was just a bait, the comics I was reading were just the same old.
One day, I was on Instagram and I received an ad from WebToon, a LINE website just like Tapastic and the ad showed the comic I share to everyone I know.
1 | Lore Olympus
The story is, as you probably noticed, about the Gods of Olympus. This is not a light story, I would say is 18+, there are some triggers for some people but the author make an alert before the chapter.
“Witness what the gods do…after dark. The friendships and the lies, the gossip and the wild parties, and of course, forbidden love. Because it turns out, the gods aren’t so different from us after all, especially when it comes to their problems. Stylish and immersive, this is one of mythology’s greatest stories — The Taking of Persephone — as it’s never been told before.”
It all started with a party and Hades fell for Persephone, the Goddess of Spring. And say that line which makes Aphrodite really mad.
All the characters are made in one shade of a color, the illustrations are just amazing. It updates every Sunday, no idea when it’s going to end, but it’s my favorite thing.
If you enjoy Greek Mythology, you will love this webcomic.
2 | Refund High School
This comic reached the end and I cried and laughed so much. 135 episodes of pure art.
I wish death would be just like this, you get a second chance to earn karma to your next life, in a high school, to reincarnate as an ideal version of yourself.
There are many characters at this comic but the main ones are Aru, a High Schooler who was good in nothing. Sehui, an idol in training who is trying to debut for 7 years, Mari, who is the worst brat, rich girl, the boss niece, who is going to debut with Sehui without doing any work. Gunn, an Instagram star who is self-centric beyond repair.
They all died on the same day and go to Refund High School together.
3 | Big Jo
Jo doesn’t take crap from no one. Being fat as a teenager isn’t easy, even when you know you’re awesome.
I love this comic because is about real people and real-life with a slice of weirdness and fantasy.
We have Jo who is fat and doesn’t care about it, but of course, she cares and want to change. She met Thomas who starts to help her on her journey.
Most of the people have their heart in a good place. And her Poetry Teacher is Tom Hiddleston.
4 | Castle Swimmer
“What happens when your entire life is ruled by a prophecy – your future foretold by people you’ve never met, who died long before you were born. Such is the story of two young sea creatures. One believed to be a guiding light for his people, a Beacon who will lead them to a bright, prosperous future. The other is a teenage prince for who’s destiny is to KILL the Beacon so that HIS own people might thrive.”
I wasn’t a fan of this one at the beginning because it was so unfair. But on the 5th episode, I was completely hooked. Now it’s on the 33rd and I am so shocked by the turn of events!
If you like ocean stories, this is for you.
We have Prince Siren of the castle of sharks who must kill the beacon because of a prophecy.
5 | Hooky
Dani and Dorian have missed the bus of the school of magic. Now, they must find someone who teaches them how to be great and good witches…
I was looking for something that reminded me of Harry Potter. Yes, I am still missing it… Why J.K. Rowling doesn’t write about Ilvermorny?
SO, I found this comic about these two kids who are so clueless. It’s not clear when the story is passed but the witches and wizards are a secret to humans.
Bonus: Sunny & Rainy
Sunny and Rainy is a webcomic about sapphic witches, Halloween and learning college-level witchcraft. It’s a mostly cute slice of life stories with LGBTQ+ characters, cats and magical succulents.
I am a completely succulent lover and I would love one who could tell me date and time. Seriously!!
Updates: Wednesdays, biweekly.

Do you read any of these? Please, feel free to recommend webcomics you follow in the comics.
You did a great job here. I tried a few graphic novels last year and found that it wasn’t for me.
It really depends on the story. I found that lately people are getting more serious about it.
I’m not really a comic/graphic novel reader but maybe this is a way to give some a go. Thanks for sharing.
